ATHLETE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Michael Anthony Thorne Jr is a former Division 1 Power 5 athlete who played professionally overseas in Slovenia, Tbilisi Georgia, and Kosovo. He grew up in Fayetteville, NC and has broad experience playing, training, and coaching the game of basketball.

He attended Trinity Christian High School where he helped bring them their first state championship in school History. He helped Trinity Christian capture their first state title in 2011 were they beat top 20 nationally ranked United Faith. After finishing his amazing run at Trinity Christian, he went on to play for UNC Charlotte where he played for Alan Major and Ryan Odom who is currently the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC.

After another great run at UNC Charlotte from 2011-2015 he entered the transfer portal where he was recognized as one of the top graduate transfers in the country. He received countless offers from school's prestigious schools such as Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, and NC State along with many others.

Michael ended up choosing the Illinois Fighting Illini to play for John Groce where he broadened his knowledge for the game even more playing in the Big Ten from 2015-2017. After a very successful high school and college career, Coach Thorne concluded to play professionally for 3 years where he gained knowledge of the European style of play. Coach Thorne has a deep passion for the game of basketball and uses his grassroots and collegiate experience to help athletes who want to become Elite at the game of basketball.
